Every Bag from Hermès Fall-Winter 2026-2027, Chapter Two

Hermès Fall-Winter 2026-2027 bags arrived in Los Angeles wrapped in butter yellow light, riding the line between rehearsal and performance the way the rest of the collection did. Nadège Vanhée, the house’s artistic director of women’s ready-to-wear, staged the second chapter of the Women’s Fall-Winter 2026-2027 runway show in Bel Air, live-streamed from a custom pavilion built into the hills above the Hotel Bel-Air.

Press shorthand has called the show “Resort 2027,” though Hermès itself does not run a traditional resort calendar; the house’s own title for the event is the Women’s Fall-Winter 2026-2027 runway show, the second chapter — a continuation of the Paris-shown collection, carried to a second city the way earlier installments traveled to New York in 2024 and Shanghai in 2025.

The structure took over a month to build on a stretch of land that, for the rest of the year, functions as a parking lot. Guests reached it by golf cart, climbing through the canyon as dusk settled, before stepping into a space drenched entirely in pale yellow — ceiling, lighting rig, seating, all of it tuned to the same warm note. As the show progressed, the light shifted from gold hour to something closer to midnight, mirroring the way the collection itself moved from soft daywear into darker, more sculptural evening pieces. Vanhée named the collection “Silhouettes on the Horizon,” a title that doubled as a description of the setting: silhouettes caught between the stage and the landscape, rehearsal and performance, reality and reverie.

Ballet sat at the center of her research. Vanhée described the collection as the idea of a dancer leaving a studio after rehearsal, throwing on a jacket over a leotard, still carrying the posture of the work. That image shaped supple leather parkas, wrap-effect dresses, and bustier silhouettes that nodded to pointe shoes, all set against a palette of jaune flave, deep reds, and ink black.

The Birkin Leads the Hermès Fall-Winter 2026-2027 Runway

The Birkin opened the bag conversation before the first model reached the end of the runway. Hermès sent it out in a chocolate-brown grained leather with gold hardware, carried alongside a tan-and-brown leather look heavy with Western detailing — a deliberate nod to California’s cowboy mythology that ran through several looks in the show. Off the runway, the same silhouette turned up in two finishes circulating from press and showroom images afterward: a deep black with gold-tone closures and a chocolate version in a softer, more matte grain with palladium hardware. Both read as quieter than the runway colorway, built for daily rotation rather than spectacle.

What stood out in Bel Air was how little the Birkin needed to compete with the clothes around it. Vanhée’s looks leaned toward fluid satin and ballet-referenced tailoring, and the bag’s blunt, structured geometry gave each silhouette an anchor. It is the reason the Birkin still opens conversations like this one, season after season: nothing else in the lineup argues with it.

The Kelly and the Kelly Clutch Carry the House’s Codes

If the Birkin sets the tone, the Kelly is the bag that proved most willing to travel between day and night looks at this show. The classic trapezoidal silhouette, with its single top handle and turn-lock closure, appeared in a deep rouge H/bordeaux leather with silver hardware, paired with a red leather-and-key-print look that referenced antique hardware almost literally — the prints on the jacket showed keys and locks, echoed by the bag’s own turn-lock.

The Kelly Clutch carried the bag’s DNA into eveningwear without shrinking its presence. Two bordeaux versions, wrapped in the signature crossed leather straps and turn-lock, were carried with a red power suit, while an ivory clutch with gold hardware appeared against a black sequined evening dress.

Structured Top-Handles: Bolide, Picotin, Plume, Sac Cliquetis, and More

Beyond the two headline bags, this show leaned hard into Hermès’s structured top-handle family, and several of them carried genuinely new details.

The Bolide, the house’s dome-shaped zip-top bag, appeared in chocolate, khaki-green, and black, with a jeweled metal chain woven directly into the zipper pull on more than one look — a styling trick that turned a classic into something closer to jewelry. A mini Bolide in black followed the same chain treatment at a smaller scale.

The Box calfskin Micro Picotin 14, a standout earlier in Paris, played more of a supporting role in Los Angeles. It still appeared throughout the lineup in three colorways — navy, Rouge H, and black — styled across very different looks: carried handheld with a red power suit, tucked discreetly beneath a navy coat, and held against an all-black evening gown. The brand’s signature lock-and-strap detail ran across the front of all three, the one constant across an otherwise varied set of appearances.

The Plume brought some of the most refined leatherwork in the show, built as a structured bowling-bag shape with diamond-tab hardware at the base of its double handles. It appeared in pale yellow, ivory, and an ostrich-embossed cream, the exotic skin adding texture without losing the bag’s clean, boxy lines.

The Sac Cliquetis did heavier lifting for the season’s eveningwear, built around a flap silhouette with a heavy chain-and-toggle handle that doubled as its main visual signature. It appeared in black with both silver and gold hardware, as well as in chocolate brown, with the chain handle catching just as much light as any piece of jewelry on the runway.

The Faubourg Express brought a sleeker, more architectural read to the same stretch of the show. The elongated bowling-bag silhouette, finished with long double straps and a small leather charm, showed up in black, paired against quilted leather trousers for a look that felt closer to tailoring than to eveningwear.

The Sac à Dépêches closed out the evening looks with something softer. A triangular, asymmetric shoulder bag with a slouchy, almost unstructured construction, it appeared in chocolate and black, giving the heavier eveningwear pieces something light enough to carry through the rest of the night.

The Clou de Forge rounded out the structured category without stealing focus, built as a flap bag distinguished by its forge-nail-style metal clasps. It appeared in burgundy and black, with the hardware doing most of the visual work against otherwise clean leather.

The East-West Handheld Bag brought a softer silhouette to the same stretch of the show — a rectangular top-handle bag with a relaxed, slightly slouchy construction. It showed up in pale yellow, black, burgundy, and white, making it one of the most versatile shapes on the runway in terms of colorway.

The Malette closed out the trio with the smallest scale of the three, a crossbody flap finished with a gold “H” turn-lock. It appeared only in black, worn close to the body as a quieter counterpoint to the bigger bags around it.

Mini Bags and Evening Clutches

The smallest bags in the show told their own story about how Hermès thinks about evening dressing.

The Médor Watch Clutch channeled vintage Hermès rather than anything from the current handbag catalogue, built as a dome-shaped black clutch with a gold watch-style clasp on top. It was carried tucked against the body with almost no strap visible, closer to a piece of jewelry than a bag in the way it moved with the models.

The Petit Sac brought one of the only true pastel moments in an otherwise saturated accessories lineup. The curved shoulder bag, finished with a small “H” hardware detail at the strap join, appeared in pale pink against yellow and lime looks, softening the silhouette around it rather than competing with it.

Clutches did most of the talking in the show’s darker, more formal stretch. The Sanglons Clutch Clouté led that stretch, built as a rectangular box clutch with a gold turn-lock. It came out in ivory with metal studs and in plain black, both styled as hand-carried pieces rather than anything with a strap, letting the hardware sit front and center against the plain leather.

A handful of additional small clutches appeared throughout the eveningwear segment without confirmed style names — a rigid black box shape with a wrist strap, a bordeaux top-handle mini bag, and a structured ivory clutch with a curved handle. Their boxy, hardware-forward construction suggests they belong to the same evening-clutch family as the Sanglons, built for a single night out rather than daily rotation.

Taken together, the bag lineup at the Hermès Fall-Winter 2026-2027 runway show did what the clothes did: it moved between discipline and ease, structure and softness, without ever losing the precision the house is known for.
