Dior Spring Summer 2027 Bags: The Biker, the Médaillon and a Swan in Silver

The Dior Spring Summer 2027 bags tell the story of Jonathan Anderson’s second summer at the house in the most practical terms: what a woman carries once tailoring turns to air. Shown on 29 September 2026 at Le Bassin Octogonal in the Jardin des Tuileries, the Dior Summer 2027 Women’s collection paired 65 looks with a bag line built on Cannage, letters and nature. There is a Biker Shoulder Bag zipped shut with D-I-O-R pulls, a Dior Médaillon bag shaped like a barrel, fishnet totes dressed in silk scarves and a swan that opens on a hinge.

Before any of it was seen, the guests had already been handed the key to the collection, in a grey box.

The Invitation: A Pair of Wénwán Walnuts

The Dior Summer 2027 invitation came as a box covered in taupe canvas, tied with grosgrain ribbon and sealed with an embossed “Dior” label framed in a twisted-rope border. Inside, on a tray of grey velvet, sat two wénwán walnuts.

A printed card explained the gesture. Hand-rolling wénwán walnuts is a longstanding Chinese tradition: a pair is held in one hand and each nut rotated around the other until, over years, the shell takes on a smooth, amber-colored sheen associated with longevity and good fortune. Pairs that match in shape and size are rare and prized. In the words of the show notes, “perfect symmetry is elusive.”

“Coming across wénwán walnuts reminded me of how we can find knowledge and preciousness in nature.” — Jonathan Anderson

The card itself was calligraphed by hand, with each guest’s name in black ink under “Dior a l’honneur d’inviter.” A second name tag came die-cut as an oval cartouche, crowned with an embossed bow and edged in a beaded frame. Remember that oval. It returns on three of the bags.

Page five of the show notes set the collection’s vocabulary in the outline of a walnut, the words curving with its ridges: lace, organza, silk mousseline, double duchesse satin, printed jacquard plissé, bouclé, “how light can a garment be?”, “where is true symmetry?”. The collection is dedicated to Mathilde.

The Set: Camphor Trees in Le Bassin Octogonal

For the second season running, Dior built its show around Le Bassin Octogonal, the octagonal pond at the western end of the Tuileries, with the Eiffel Tower and the glass roof of the Grand Palais in view. A low white pavilion wrapped the water, and guests sat in a single row around its perimeter, on carved wooden armchairs with pierced, scrolling backs.

In the pond stood a cluster of camphor trees, their trunks in the water, as if pausing there for a moment’s rest. Low mist rolled across the surface, and a narrow white runway crossed the basin between the trees. The camphors were sourced from a nursery in Italy and will be replanted in the Tuileries after the show.

At the entrance, a white wall carried the house name in black letters, beside one of the garden’s classical stone groups: a reclining river god with a putto riding a swan. The swan, it turned out, was a preview.

The Concept: Lightness, Motion and Tailleur as Flou

Dior describes the Summer 2027 Women’s collection as “a study of lightness, achieved through technical virtuosity.” Tailleur is imagined as flou, and air is treated almost as a material, part of the lace, mousseline and organza. The scale slides from transparency to opacity and back.

“The collection is about lightness and motion – what happens when a garment is worn? How does it operate in the breeze?” — Jonathan Anderson

Elements of the Autumn-Winter 2026-2027 collection return in new guises: flower-like volumes, iridescence and cropped silhouettes. The Bar jacket is cut short and sheer, Prince of Wales checks and pinstripes are rendered in near-transparent fabric, and pink and ivory petals cover jackets, skirts and earrings.

Tagwalk’s analysis of the show puts numbers on it. Transparency features in 42% of the 65 looks, asymmetry in 22%, pattern mixing in 14% and three-dimensional floral embellishment in 6%. Outerwear features in 58% of looks.

The bags follow the same two ideas. Openwork mesh, woven leather and petals carry the transparency. Zips cut on the diagonal, folded panels and charms split across two sides carry the asymmetry.

The Dior Biker Shoulder Bag

The Dior Biker Shoulder Bag is the new bag of the season and the clearest statement of what Anderson calls his “Dior deconstructed” approach. It is a large, slouchy shoulder bag in soft quilted Cannage lambskin, shown in black, burgundy and chocolate brown.

Zips run across it the way they run across a motorcycle jacket. One curves over the top and folds into a front flap. Another drops diagonally down the front, off-center, like the asymmetric zip of a biker. The curved flap pocket is a nod to the Saddle.

The pullers are the detail people will remember. Four large letters in patinated silver hang from the ends of the zips: D at the top of the diagonal, I at its base, O on the flap and R on the top zip. Together they spell the name that has dangled from the Lady Dior as charms since 1995, here pulled apart and put to work. A single wide leather strap adjusts through a silver belt buckle, with punched holes and a loose tail, and a small silver “Dior” sits on the side.

The Dior Médaillon Shoulder Bag

The Dior Médaillon Shoulder Bag (often spelled Medallion) takes the house’s Médaillon line into a new shape: an east-west cylinder, closed at each end by a rigid oval cap. Each cap carries “Dior” embossed inside a beaded frame, the same cartouche printed on the invitation tag.

The body is smooth lambskin with flat-stitched Cannage, shown in burgundy on the runway and in butter yellow and pale pink in the boutique. A zip winds diagonally across the top, and a small gold “Dior” sits on the front. The strap is a chain of round links, in gold on the runway and silver on the yellow version, long enough for the shoulder or gathered into the hand.

On the runway, every burgundy Médaillon was cinched through the middle into a deep V, the soft body folding between its two hard ends like a wrapped sweet. Worn on the shoulder in the boutique, the same bag reads as a full, smooth barrel. Both are the Médaillon; which one you get depends on what is inside.

The Dior Fishnet Fringe Bag and the Petal Mesh Bags

The Dior Fishnet Fringe Bag is built in layers, and Dior’s own making-of film shows the order. The base is a crocheted net bag with a scalloped edge and an embroidered oval medallion framing “Dior”, finished with a braided leather-and-chain handle and metal O-rings. Over it goes a silk carré edged with long fringe on two sides. The scarf is folded around the net, its corners pulled through the rings and knotted, so the fringe falls across the body of the bag.

Because the scarf is tied on, the same net takes different prints. The film shows a black and white scarf printed with oversized D letters, a pink Dior Oblique, a mauve floral with grey fringe, a red geranium print that matches the runway dresses, and an illustrated Paris façade. The fringe carries over from the Autumn-Winter 2026-2027 Haute Couture collection.

The same net base comes in two more versions. The plainest is a pale blue mesh with the embroidered oval medallion, bow on top, “Dior” at its center. The most romantic is the petal mesh bag, where the net is covered almost to the handle in layers of sheer georgette petals, with a strip of raw-edged chiffon left loose at the opening.

Dior’s atelier film shows how the petals are made. Each one is traced as a teardrop on silk, printed with a soft gradient, edged in a fine scalloped stitch and cut out by hand. The petals are then sewn one by one onto silk mousseline crêponnée, overlapping like scales, so the panel moves with every step. The pink version fades from rose at the tip to ivory and sits on an ivory net.

The second is ivory with a black scalloped edge, mottled grey like watercolor, with small black beads strung on loose threads, over a black net. The black-edged petals match the trim on the Petit Dîner bow and the petals on the Lady Dior.

The crocheted net also works as an accessory to other bags. On the runway it is carried alongside the Cigale and two of the new shoulder bags, in ivory, pink and black.

The Dior Swan Minaudière and the Walnut Minaudière

The Dior Swan Minaudière is the season’s object piece: a palm-sized swan at rest, neck curved, head tucked against its breast. The body is glossy white acrylic, the wings are plates of silver-tone metal engraved feather by feather, and the beak is mirror-polished light gold under a black mask. A silver frame runs around the body and opens on a hinge, and a removable twisted chain lets it hang from the shoulder.

It joins the house’s line of animal-shaped evening bags, and it was teased on Anderson’s Instagram before the show. Guests who passed the stone swan at the entrance had already met it.

The second minaudière belongs to the invitation. Clipped to a CD Toujours tote on the runway, on a silver chain, is a small silver evening bag shaped like a wénwán walnut, its ridged shell rendered in a mirrored, almost molten finish. It turns the two nuts in the guest box into an object to carry.

Lady Dior for Spring Summer 2027: Woven, Petalled and Charmed

The Lady Dior appears in three moods this season.

The first is the softer Lady Dior Anderson has been building: wider in the body, with side drawstrings finished in leather tassels, flat arched handles in place of round ones, and metal feet on the base. On the runway it comes in glossy ivory crocodile and in chocolate Cannage in a crinkled, glazed leather, held low in the hand so the body gathers.

The second is woven. Hand-braided leather forms a dense band at the top and opens into large hexagonal holes below, with a smooth leather pouch inside, gathered by a drawstring that exits through the sides and ends in tassels. The charm is a leather bow with a round medallion stacking D, I, O and R into one monogram. It comes in powder pink, ivory and chocolate, and a mint version appears in the studio still life.

The third is the classic structured Lady Dior, dressed up. There is Cannage in pink patent with black piping, three-dimensional pastel flower embroidery, organza petals edged in black and beaded, ivory sequins over quilting, and python in beige-gold. The charms do most of the talking: a pleated pink silk flower with stamens, a string of enamel bellflowers set with crystals, a mother-of-pearl four-leaf clover, and a tiny Bar figurine in a pink tulle skirt with an ostrich feather. A Lady Dior covered entirely in pink and ivory petals completes the set.

The Dior Saddle Bag Returns

The Dior Saddle Bag returns in two forms. The classic flat Saddle, with its asymmetric flap running into the D-hung strap, appears in taupe suede.

The new version is deeper and built for daily use. In grained calfskin in beige, black and chocolate, it has a side gusset, an open top behind the flap, horizontal strap bands across the sides and a rounded base. The antique gold D still hangs at the strap, which is wide, adjustable and fixed with gold carabiners for shoulder or cross-body wear. The flap keeps its shape; the body below it softens when the bag is empty.

The Dior Cigale Bag

The Dior Cigale bag was Anderson’s first major bag for the house, introduced for Spring 2026, and it shares its name with Christian Dior’s 1952 La Cigale dress. For Summer 2027 it returns with more relaxed proportions and a wide spread of skins.

The shape is a trapezoid that flares toward the base, with an open mouth and diagonal origami pleats folded across the front. A bow with a metal ring sits at the center, and double rings hold the handle. Finishes include metallic gold crocodile, glossy black crocodile, matte butter-yellow crocodile, metallic sage crocodile, dark green patent, ivory smooth leather and black and white python, with gold or silver hardware. It is worn on a long strap or carried by the short handle, and one version has a handle wrapped in black and white beads, finished with a tassel.

The CD Toujours Tote and the New Dior Bowler Bag

The CD Toujours builds on the Toujours silhouette as a small, soft tote, narrow at the mouth and flaring to a rounded base. It comes in navy and powder pink ostrich and in blue suede with raised Cannage. The two short handles are chains woven with leather. Where they meet the body, a C hangs on one side and a D on the other, replacing the eyelets of the original, in gold on the runway and silver in the boutique. “Dior” is heat-stamped low on the front.

The same split monogram appears on a new mini bowler bag, still unnamed by the house. It is a small dome with a zip running around the top, two slim adjustable straps with buckles, and a small gold “Dior” on the front. On the runway it comes in sand ostrich and in quilted Cannage lambskin in burgundy and black. Boutique shelves add pale yellow, grey-blue and pink. Its quilting echoes the Dior Milly-La-Forêt, the soft bag introduced for Spring 2026.

The Dior Toujours Hobo and the Dior Initials Hobo Bag

The Dior Toujours Hobo, introduced last season, returns in lilac and chocolate suede with raised Cannage quilting. Its single handle is cut in one piece with the body and folds and twists over the opening. A D-I-O-R charm in pale gold hangs from the side seam, and a gold zip runs down the side. It is the softest bag in the collection, shaped entirely by how it is carried.

The Dior Initials Hobo Bag, first shown at the Cruise 2027 show, returns on the runway in black calfskin and sand-colored suede. Its panels overlap on the diagonal like a folded envelope and open into a deep V, held by a magnetic closure. Dior calls the quilting Flat Macrocannage: the house grid, stitched flat and scaled up.

Pale gold initials frame the opening, a sculpted D on one side and a C on the other, and the braided leather-and-chain handle is long enough for the shoulder. A gold “Dior” is hot-stamped on the front.

The Dior Bow Bag and the Petit Dîner Minaudière

The Dior Bow Bag is a soft pouch cinched at the center by a knotted bow, which splits the body into two rounded lobes. This season it comes in iridescent metallic ostrich in pink and pale blue, and in pearly silver-ivory leather, as well as python and patent. The strap is a fine gold chain of elongated links with tiny metal bows set between them, long enough for the shoulder or gathered into the hand.

The Dior Petit Dîner, introduced in Cannage raffia for Spring 2026, returns as a rounded box minaudière covered in tiny black sequins. A large bow of white organza, edged in black and frayed at the ends like feathers, is caught in a white enamel ring striped with black. The chain repeats the Bow Bag’s idea in silver, with small white enamel bows between the links. It is the most rigid bag of the season and holds its shape whatever is inside.

The Dior Promenade Bag and the Dior Book Tote

The Dior Promenade Bag is a rectangular tote in suede with flat-stitched Cannage, its gussets folded like bellows. Two slim leather handles pass through large eyelets engraved with “CD,” and a small leather bow embossed with “Dior” sits on the front. It comes in chocolate, taupe, pearl grey, lilac and sand, in a compact size for the hand and a larger tote for the shoulder. A third version is cut in Dior Oblique denim jacquard, with chain handles wrapped in frayed denim.

The Dior Book Tote returns in an all-over embroidered floral, in a pastel pink and blue colorway and a brighter mix of red, yellow and blue. The front carries a raised oval medallion with a bow on top and “Dior” embroidered in blue, the cartouche from the invitation once again. The heavy embroidery gives the tote enough body to stand on its own.

Two New Dior Shoulder Bags Without Names Yet

Two more shoulder bags were shown without official names.

The first is a wide, low crescent in smooth lambskin with flat-stitched Cannage and a bound edge. A zip runs its full length and ends in an oval CD puller, and a second zip forms a front pocket. The ends are rolled leather tubes, the strap is a heavy gold chain threaded with leather, and a large gold CD sits on the front. It comes in butter yellow, burgundy, black, ivory and grey-beige, and in camel suede.

The second is a smaller crescent in padded, quilted Cannage lambskin, in black and chocolate. It has a short flat leather strap and a detachable long gold chain, with small gold fittings shaped like stylized flowers at each end.

Soft Shapes, Full Silhouettes

Most of the Dior Spring Summer 2027 bags are soft. The Biker, the Médaillon, the Toujours and Initials hobos and the new Lady Dior all read correctly only when full, and the runway shows them both ways. Owners who want the silhouette from the lookbook rather than the folded one can keep the shape with an insert sized to the bag, such as LA FORMA’s Bag Pillows for Lady Dior.
