Fendi Spring-Summer 2027 Bags: Lizard, Fringe and the Soft Baguette

The Fendi Spring 2027 bags belong to a collection about bodies. Maria Grazia Chiuri built her second Fendi show, staged in Milan on September 23, 2026, around lingerie, lace and a mirrored set, and the handbags follow the same instinct: they are held close, pressed under the arm, carried against the ribs. The Fendi SS27 bags lean on the Baguette in every register, rigid and soft, mini and oversized, paired with FF totes and scaled up into a slouchy Mamma Baguette, while a scarab chain clutch and a fringed Peekaboo complete the lineup.

The Fendi Spring 2027 Show: Mirrors, Lingerie and Raffaella Carrà

Before the first look, a line from E.E. Cummings was projected in the space: “I like my body when it is with your body.” Then the room opened into what looked like an endless hall of mirrors. Fendi built the set with Bureau Betak, taking its cue from Luciano Fabro’s Cubo di specchi: reflective walls, rows of white strip lights overhead, and every silhouette repeated into the distance.

The mirrors caught the audience too. Guests saw their own reflections standing beside the models as each look passed, so the people watching became part of the show. For a collection about bodies seen by other bodies, the set made the point before a single garment did. It also helped the bags: a Baguette carried under the arm was seen from the front, the side and the back at once.

Fendi’s show notes describe clothes as “a second skin, porous to emotions,” and then list the collisions that run through the 70 looks: “Glossy and matte. Light and heavy. Silk and animal print.” The bags obey that list almost word for word. Lizard sits against lace. Pony hair sits against satin. Crackled leather sits against a fur stole and a bra.

Raffaella Carrà supplied the attitude. “Raffaella had a strong awareness of her body and a great sense of fashion, which had a big influence on us,” Chiuri said. The mirrors also recall Carrà and Adriano Celentano dancing to “Prisencolinensinainciusol” on Italian television in 1974. That explains the sparkle on the accessories: bead fringe, crystal FF buckles, sequins.

For anyone following Fendi bags, the season reads clearly. The Baguette carries the collection in at least six formats, and the Peekaboo returns in printed reptile and leather fringe.

The Rigid Fendi Baguette: Embroidery, Fur Intarsia and Pyramid Studs

The structured Baguette keeps the flat, rectangular body of the 1997 original and turns the surface into the story. It is carried the classic way, tucked under the arm on a short strap, and each version trades on one decorative technique.

  • Embroidered mesh, yellow and coral. Black leaves are raised in relief over sheer yellow mesh, with a silver FF buckle; the coral version adds red piping. The yellow one was worn with a pink silk slip dress.
  • Fur intarsia. Brown and beige fur is worked into an abstract FF pattern, finished with a cognac leather flap and a gold buckle.
  • Leopard pony hair with beaded roses. Embroidered roses sit on leopard-print calf hair, framed by a red reptile flap and a crystal FF buckle. This is the bag most likely to become the season’s image.
  • Black with lime bead fringe. Geometric embroidery covers the body, lime-green beads hang from the base, and the FF buckle is matte black.
  • Cream and black with pyramid studs. A two-tone body is edged with gold pyramid studs that continue along the strap, closed with a gold FF buckle.
  • Mint lizard with leopard spots. Seen in the backstage group portraits, a pale mint lizard Baguette with a brown spotted print hangs from the shoulder on a matching strap.

The Soft Fendi Baguette: Beaded Mesh, Reptile Flaps and Bead Fringe

The second group relaxes the frame. The body drapes and folds when carried, closer to the Baguette Soft family Fendi already sells than to the stiff original. Almost every bag here has a reptile flap and strap, and most are worn crossbody on a wide black grosgrain strap that runs alongside the thin leather one.

Four share one recipe: beaded mesh in an animal pattern, a matching reptile flap and a gold FF buckle.

  • Lime and brown, tiger-striped, with a lime reptile flap
  • Brick pink and black, tiger-striped, with a reddish reptile flap, worn over mint satin shorts and a black coat
  • Mint and brown leopard, with a mint reptile flap, worn over black lace
  • Taupe and brown leopard, with a taupe reptile flap, worn over ivory lace

The rest of the soft Baguettes read as echoes of the rigid ones. A beige canvas version with geometric embroidery and brown bead fringe is the sand-colored twin of the lime-fringed bag. A black satin version carries the same beaded roses, red reptile flap and crystal buckle as the leopard one.

A white beaded Baguette with pink, green and red geometric motifs has a brown leather flap and silver hardware. A salmon satin Baguette is covered in bead fringe, with a pink reptile flap, and is the softest shape in the show. The last, in black sequins with long fringe, nearly disappears against sequin trousers.

The Fendi Mini Baguette in Lizard

The Mini Baguette is the plainest bag in the collection and the most expensive-looking. Each one is lizard from edge to edge, with a crystal FF buckle and a short strap the models looped over the wrist, so the bag hangs like a clutch. Schön! Magazine described it as a Baguette “designed to fit little more than a phone.”

  • Burgundy red lizard with black markings, worn with a black slip dress and lace
  • Sage green lizard with black markings, worn with a long black satin dress
  • Natural beige and brown lizard, with the crystal buckle set on a silver frame, worn with a sheer zigzag dress

Every Mini Baguette came with a wide reptile cuff on the same wrist. The crystal buckle ties this trio to the leopard and black rose Baguettes in the larger sizes.

The Fendi Baguette Worn with an FF Tote

Two looks paired a Baguette with a Fendi tote and asked the models to carry both at once. The Baguette hangs in front of the tote, and the FF monogram links the two.

The first tote combines black leather with beige and black FF jacquard, an embossed FENDI logo across the top, braided handles and sides laced with braided cord. The Baguette on it has leopard-print panels, a dark brown leather frame, gold pyramid studs and a gold FF buckle, a close relative of the studded cream Baguette.

The second tote is black and brown FF jacquard canvas with an embroidered logo and the same laced sides. Its Baguette is cognac and beige leather with laser-cut florals, domed tonal studs and whipstitched edges, and the FF buckle is wrapped in leather to match. In both pairings the Baguette does the decorating and the tote does the carrying.

The Fendi Scarab Chain Clutch

The newest shape of the season is a flat, elongated clutch with no FF buckle at all. The flap closes on a black stone scarab, and bundles of multi-strand gold chain hang loose from one side like a bracelet – it as a small turnlock handheld clutch with a gold chain; Fendi’s product name is still to be published.

The same scarab sits on a ring each model wore on the carrying hand, so the clutch and the jewelry read as a set. The clutch is held flat in the palm and comes in the reptile palette of the Mini Baguette plus one hair-on version:

  • Beige and brown lizard, with a black suit
  • Cognac lizard, with a leopard mini dress, a cuff and leopard stilettos
  • Cream and gray lizard with brown markings, with an ivory satin shirt and skirt
  • Leopard pony hair, with a black glitter bodysuit and a stingray cuff
  • Black lizard, with a black dress studded in silver
  • Lime yellow lizard, with a set in embroidered brown lace

The Fendi Peekaboo in Leopard-Print Reptile

The Peekaboo came out in the same leopard-print reptile as the trench it was worn with, a head-to-toe match finished by a mint fur collar. The model carried it open, so the dark brown leather interior, the zipped pocket and the gold turnlock were on show. That is the Peekaboo’s founding idea since 2009, and here it lands with a softer, slouchier body than usual. Gold stud feet sit at the base, the top handles close with small buckles, and a matching shoulder strap loops over the arm.

Fringe, Selleria and Oversized Shoppers

The last group moves into Fendi’s Selleria language, the hand-stitched leatherwork named after Roman saddlers, and it is where the fringe lives.

  • Fringed half-moon crossbody. Black grained leather with visible Selleria topstitching, a palladium FF clasp and a curtain of long leather fringe, worn on the shoulder with a black suit and a striped fur scarf.
  • Fringed crocodile Peekaboo. Matte tan crocodile with Selleria stitching, palladium stud feet and long crocodile fringe at both sides; mauve fur spills out of the top. Monica Bellucci carried a large black fringed Peekaboo in the front row.
  • Oversized Selleria shopper. Black grained leather, braided handles, stud feet and a round FENDI SELLERIA tag on a leather cord, held flat across the body like a portfolio.
  • Laser-cut floral tote. Black leather cutwork over a cream base, framed by whipstitched borders, carried by hand on long thin handles. The cutwork repeats the laser-cut florals on the cognac Baguette from the tote pairing.

How the Fendi Spring 2027 Bags Were Styled

The accessories around the bags were chosen to repeat their skins. Wide cuffs in lizard, stingray and lace sat on the carrying wrist, often in the same color as the bag. Detached leather shirt collars, fastened with a small pin and chain, echoed the reptile trims at the neck. The scarab ring matched the scarab clutch. Leopard ran from bag to belt to trench to stiletto.

The effect is a body dressed in one continuous surface, which is exactly the “second skin” the show notes describe. The bag stops being an object at the end of the arm and becomes part of the outfit’s texture.

Why the Baguette Carries Fendi Spring 2027

Chiuri spent the 1990s in Fendi’s accessories studio, the decade the Baguette was born in 1997. For her first Fendi collection, Fall-Winter 2026-27, she recreated the original as the Baguette 26424 in black calfskin. For Spring 2027 she spreads it across every size the house has: Mini, rigid, soft, paired with a tote, and the oversized Mamma Baguette.

The Peekaboo, the scarab clutch and the Selleria shoppers give the lineup range. The Baguette gives it a voice. After two seasons, Chiuri’s Fendi reads as a house that treats its most famous bag as a surface to embroider, bead, fringe and scale, look after look.
