Gigi Hadid Stars in the Miu Miu 2026 Leathergoods Campaign

Gigi Hadid is back at Miu Miu — and this time, she’s moving in. The Italian house has unveiled its Miu Miu 2026 leather goods campaign, photographed by Steven Meisel, with Hadid cast as a young woman taking possession of a stiff, bourgeois apartment and, piece by piece, making it hers. The Arcadie and Wander bags in matelassé leather are her only accessories. The attitude, as ever, is entirely her own.

Gigi Hadid and Miu Miu: A Creative Partnership That Just Gets Better

Hadid has reunited with Miu Miu, returning to star in the brand’s latest campaign for the first time since November 2025. But to call this a reunion undersells the depth of what’s become one of the most consistent pairings in contemporary luxury fashion. Hadid has been affiliated with Miu Miu for a long time — she was among those walking the brand’s buzzy fall 2025 show in Paris, joined in the rich casting by Sarah Paulson, Laura Harrier, Lou Doillon, and Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, among others.

In her own words, the connection runs deeper than a contract. In 2023, Hadid described Miuccia Prada as “one of the most inspiring and iconic women in the world — because she explores all of her loves and interests to their fullest potential.” She also said she thinks of the Miu Miu woman as “playful but calm, classic but cool, in-charge but grounded.” Three years and several campaigns later, there’s nothing to suggest she’s changed her mind.

The 2026 campaign is the latest chapter in a leather goods series that has consistently used Hadid as its protagonist. The 2025 edition — also shot by Steven Meisel — immortalized Hadid and the brand’s emblematic matelassé through imagery inspired by classic high society portraiture of the 20th century, with each image uniquely digitally painted by hand to echo the work of the brushstroke.

Before that, the 2024 campaign was evocative of pioneering photographer Yevonde, whose work is noted for its use of delicate colors, surreal arrangements and use of drapery and foliage in portraiture. Each iteration has carried its own distinct artistic logic — and the 2026 edition is no exception.

The Campaign: A Bourgeois Apartment, a Gamine Intruder

Where previous campaigns were built on the language of portraiture and painterly stillness, this one moves. The concept, developed under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada with art direction by Christopher Simmonds, places Hadid inside a quintessentially bourgeois interior — neutral walls, period furniture, a palette that belongs to some other, quieter era — and watches what happens when she refuses to behave accordingly.

Captured in chic Miu Miu outfits — polo crop tops, colorful skirts, lightweight knitwear — Hadid is pictured against a backdrop of intentionally neutral furniture, with the bright yellows, greens and reds of the season shining through. Her new bixie cut adds to the effect: she also debuts a playful new bixie cut, a style that’s been doing the rounds on a few notable faces recently.

Hadid looks undeniably gamine, shifting her posture and gaze from a relaxed, laissez-faire attitude to something far more playfully confrontational. Her individuality shines against a backdrop of neutral, vintage furniture that looks like it belongs to another era entirely. Miuccia Prada and Simmonds have constructed what the house calls “a controlled, graphic world” — one where personality, not décor, sets the tone.

The video element carries equal weight. Direction falls to Jordan Hemingway, a London-based artist whose photography and filmmaking operate in a space where body, light, and beauty are pushed into something deliberately unsettling. His work has earned him collaborations across the fashion and music worlds, and he recently presented his first Paris exhibition at Acne Paper, featuring portraits of figures including Marina Abramović. His presence behind this campaign’s motion component is a meaningful one — Hemingway’s eye is not decorative. It has intentions. Styling is by Lotta Volkova, a fixture in the Miu Miu creative universe whose hand can be felt in the precise tension between the studied and the spontaneous.

The Arcadie and Wander Bags: Matelassé in Its Natural Habitat

If Hadid is the protagonist, the bags are her co-stars — and they’ve earned the billing.

The Arcadie and the Wander take the lead, showing off the emblematic matelassé leather that has become the most recognisable signature of the house. The matelassé technique — quilted leather panels doubled with wadding and elastic cloth before being hand-assembled — is not simply an aesthetic choice. First sent down the Paris runway during the Autumn/Winter 2006 season, the elaborately worked material quickly became the undisputed signature of the brand, bridging the gap between historical craftsmanship and a very modern sort of playfulness.

The Arcadie, for its part, arrived later. Created in 2023 as part of the brand’s autumn/winter collection and inspired by American artist Margaret Keane, it fuses modern playfulness with traditional leather-crafting — a bag that perfectly strikes the balance between fresh and timeless. With its boxy design that borrows heavily from the classic bowling bag, the Arcadie arrives in constant rotation of mini, medium and macro sizes, available in smooth leather or soft suede, dipping into a palette that ranges from classic neutrals and delicate pastels to incredibly bright pop shades.

The Wander, by contrast, is defined by its rounded, crescent-shaped silhouette that gives it a soft, pillow-like appearance, while the short top handle keeps it anchored in Miu Miu’s early-2000s aesthetic. Celebrities and influencers have embraced the Wander because it feels simultaneously nostalgic and modern, delicate yet playful — one of the brand’s most in-demand bags, continuing to evolve with new colors and finishes each season.

For the 2026 campaign, both bags appear in a palette that simultaneously harmonizes and clashes with the interiors around them — pop reds and greens alongside more muted, considered tones. The effect is precise: the bags don’t just accessorize the space. They argue with it.
