Milan Design Week 2026: The Best Fashion Events to Attend

Every April, Milan hands itself over to design — and every year, the fashion houses arrive with something to say. Milan Design Week 2026 (April 20–26, running alongside the 64th edition of Salone del Mobile at Fiera Milano Rho) has shaped up as the strongest Fuorisalone programme for luxury fashion brands in recent memory, with events spanning immersive exhibitions, literary symposia, furniture debuts, and cultural happenings across some of the city’s most storied addresses. From Gucci’s first installation under Demna to Prada rethinking the symposium format inside the sacristy where Bramante once worked, the week rewards those who plan ahead — and plan well.

Gucci Memoria at Chiostri di San Simpliciano

The most-anticipated Fuorisalone event of 2026 has a one-word title: Memoria. Demna’s first design exhibition for Gucci — dubbed Gucci Memoria — opens to the public on April 21, inside the 16th-century San Simpliciano monastery in the Brera district, and runs through April 26.

Gucci Memoria, curated by Demna and part of the Milano Moda Design project by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, presents itself as a symbolic reinterpretation of the brand’s 105-year history — not a traditional retrospective, but a layered reflection on the identities that have shaped the house over time.

By situating the exhibition within a historic monastery, Demna introduces a dialogue between heritage architecture and contemporary design, with the project expected to explore how spatial context can shape narrative perception. The choice of San Simpliciano is consistent with the conceptual direction: a space rich in memory and spirituality, treated as an ideal container for a project that handles heritage as a living material — something that can be traversed and transformed.

Gucci Memoria will be open to the public from April 21 to 26, operating daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with entry reservations available in advance through Gucci’s official website from April 10. Expect queues. Plan accordingly.

Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades: The Palazzo Returns

Louis Vuitton’s commitment to Palazzo Serbelloni has become one of the most dependable constants of Milan Design Week — and 2026 marks another chapter. Louis Vuitton will again take over the frescoed grandeur of Palazzo Serbelloni to present its Objets Nomades designs alongside new additions to the brand’s Signature collection, including decorations, tableware and games.

The Objets Nomades programme, which has been rooted in the theme of travel since its inception in 2012 has consistently used Palazzo Serbelloni as a stage for both objects and architecture — previous editions have filled the palazzo’s vast courtyard with pavilions by Marc Fornes, Shigeru Ban and Charlotte Perriand. The neoclassical building, which briefly housed Napoleon, remains one of the most dramatically appropriate backdrops in the city for a brand whose entire mythology is built on the idea of going somewhere beautiful.

Prada Frames — In Sight: Images as Power, Inside the Home of the Last Supper

The fifth edition of Prada Frames will be staged within the sacristia of Santa Maria delle Grazie church — notably the home of Leonardo’s Last Supper. The symposium, curated by the research design studio Formafantasma, opens April 19 and runs through April 21 — technically ahead of the Salone, which is precisely the point.

This year’s theme is In Sight, and it represents a marked departure from the material preoccupations of previous editions. The symposium examines image-making as a central force in contemporary culture, addressing the growing dominance of representation over fact and framing images as cultural, political, and material constructs rather than neutral reflections of reality — in a world where the boundaries between human-authored and machine-generated content continue to blur.

The programme will conclude with a public evening that brings together the key ideas from the symposium alongside a music performance, opening the conversation to a broader audience. Small groups will also be allowed to join guided visits of the building, expanding the context of the symposium into a full architectural experience.

Hermès: A New Home Collection in the Brera Quarter

Hermès arrives at Milan Design Week 2026 with its new collection of furniture and home décor, presented at Via Palermo 10 — a quiet but well-chosen address in the Brera district, which has become the natural home of the brand’s design-facing activities in the city. International luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès and other lifestyle houses often use Fuorisalone as a platform to present experimental installations that merge design with contemporary culture. For Hermès, the Fuorisalone is less experimental than it is exacting — the maison uses the week to introduce objects that sit comfortably between art and function, continuing a tradition that extends from its silk scarves to its saddlery to its tableware.

Loro Piana — Studies: The Plaid as Interior

Loro Piana takes a material that has defined the brand’s identity for generations — the plaid — and repositions it as a decorative centerpiece for the interior. The exhibition Studies, hosted at Via della Moscova 33, runs the full week and operates as both product launch and cultural statement: the house arguing, not unreasonably, that the objects it makes for the body translate naturally to the objects that furnish a room.

Miu Miu Literary Club — Politics of Desire: The Fourth Edition

The Miu Miu Literary Club has become, over three editions, one of the most genuinely anticipated events of the design week calendar — and one of the few that has nothing to do with furniture. The fourth edition, titled Politics of Desire, returns to the Circolo Filologico Milanese from April 22 to 24, exploring themes of sexuality, consent, and emotional autonomy through the writings of Nobel Prize–winning French writer Annie Ernaux and Ghanaian novelist, academic and former education minister Ama Ata Aidoo.

Across April 22 and 23, a programme of conversations, lectures, and live performances will bring together a community of interdisciplinary women — writers, thinkers, and artists — offering fresh perspectives on the work and legacy of these two influential voices.

Since its debut in 2024, the Literary Club has attracted an increasingly devoted following. What started as an extension of Miuccia Prada’s longstanding commitment to culture has become something closer to a fixture — the kind of event people travel to Milan specifically for. Previous editions spotlighted Alba De Céspedes and Sibilla Aleramo (2024), then Simone de Beauvoir and Fumiko Enchi (2025). Politics of Desire continues that arc, choosing authors whose work sits at the intersection of literature, feminism, and the body.

Elie Saab — The Milanese House: A Furniture Showroom Debuts

Elie Saab opens a furniture showroom housed in an 18th-century palazzo on Via Mascagni 2 — and the timing is deliberate. The brand, long associated with couture and occasion dressing, makes its most direct statement yet about its ambitions in the home space. An 18th-century palazzo is a considered backdrop: the architecture does some of the brand positioning for you.

Jil Sander — Reference Library: An Installation for Reading Culture

Jil Sander presents a calm, precise counterpoint to the week’s more maximalist activations: an installation at Via Luca Beltrami 5 conceived around the promotion of reading culture. The Reference Library is in keeping with the brand’s longstanding aesthetic intelligence — the installation as a demonstration of values, rather than a product showcase. Runs through April 24.

Vogue Vintage Market: One Day, Curated by Mariacarla

On April 25, Vogue Italy brings its vintage market to Officine Lubar, with top model and longtime Vogue favourite Mariacarla Boscono as a key participant. One day only. The Vogue Vintage Market has built a reputation as one of the more joyful digressions of the design week programme — a reminder that the most enduring luxury is often already made.
